(Busan = International News) Reporter Cho Ha-yeon = Woodsair, a startup with product exhibition halls and manufacturing plants in Busan and Gyeongnam, was selected as the best design winner.

Marking its 37th anniversary this year, the GD product selection is a system that gives GD (Good Design) symbols, a government-certified symbol, to products with excellent designs, and is known as a highly prestigious contest in the industry.

The reality is that it is recognized as a "league of its own" by large companies ahead of the launch of new products because consumers' credibility is very high as the selection criteria are very difficult.

However, this year's GD is a fresh shock to the local industry as "woodsair," a startup based in Busan and Gyeongnam, was selected.

Woods Air's product selected for this contest is a patented product that can prevent young children from getting stuck in the door.

Kim Seo-yeon, CEO of Woods Air, said, "Materials are also eco-friendly products that use recycled aluminum with very low carbon emissions."

Conventional indoor open-door doors have a narrow structure in which about 12cm of gap is generated between the door and the door frame of the rotating shaft of the hinge when the door is opened, and the gap narrows when the door is closed.

In particular, there are many children's finger accidents in this area, and about 600,000 people (about 5,000 in Korea) are involved in door accidents among children's safety accidents that occur at home every year, CEO Kim explained.

If your fingers get stuck, you can suffer serious injuries such as crushing your finger bones, and even if the wound heals, the size of your finger changes or your nails grow deformed.

According to CEO Kim, Woods Air's anti-fingering safety door can prevent finger entrapment at the door because it operates without creating a gap of less than 1mm in the rotating shaft when opening the indoor door. In addition, it is an eco-friendly product that makes a binding door frame with recycled aluminum with less carbon emissions than conventional foamed PVC or wood products when manufacturing and disposing of products.

Finally, CEO Kim said, "We will leap forward as a company that creates a well-off society that thinks about the environment, thinks about society, and pursues meaningful and precious things, not just pursuing profits."
